From Girona LOOP to Canet dAdri
During this loop ride around Girona, you will discover the Catalonia countryside and beautiful villages. You will probably have enough free time to wander around the narrow streets of Old Girona.
Following the cycle path, a converted railway line called 'El Carrilet', this ride brings you to the Mediterranean Coast. You will arrive in Sant Feliu with its wonderful seaport and old monastery.

The route runs gently down to Castell d'Aro then on to the fishing town of Palamos where you could visit the Fish Museum on the harbor or wonder round the fish market. Then you will join the very nice Llafranc bay a lovely place for a romantic dinner on the beach.
Today you can choose to stay in Llafranc in order to enjoy a rest day on the beach or we suggest an hike along the coast between LLafranc and Tamariu. The steep cliffs, clear waters and lush vegetation surrounding the coastal fringe of the Baix Emporda make this area the maximum expression of the landscape of the Costa Brava.

This itinerary leaves the coast and brings you to through a couple of medieval settlements like the charming towns of Pals and Peratallada. Pals is declared a Historic Artistic Site. In the Gothic quarter of Pals, pretty cobbled streets flanked by aristocratic houses await you. Do not forget to try the area's cuisine, based on products from both the sea and of the mountain.

Madremanya - Castle of Pubol - Ullastret - la Bisbal d'Emporda - Madremanya
Today your cycle route takes you to Pubol. The castle in the village was bought by Dali for his wife Gala. The Gala Dali Castle in Pubol, open to the public since 1996, allows visitors to discover a medieval building in which Salvador Dali lent material form to an exuberant creative effort (through the paintings, sculptures and library collections) with his mind set on one person, Gala. After your visit, your itinerary will bring you to Ullastret and Puig de Sant Andreu in which is the largest Iberian settlement known in Catalonia. This place is now considered to have been a true town.
