5 Reasons to Cycle Champagne

Located in the northeast part of France, the region of Champagne is probably best known for the sparkling white wine to which it lends its name.  But this beautiful region offers so much more than a famous bubbly beverage.  With a long history and rich heritage, visitors will not only experience some of the best wine tasting the world over, they will also encounter a rich history filled with wonder and beauty.  Ancient castles, fortresses and countless vineyards coupled with delectable cuisine afford visitors a delicious, unique, and unforgettable journey.

Tips for Wine Tasting

There are some things that just naturally come to mind when one thinks of France.  Beautiful countryside, the magnificent Eiffel Tower and exquisite cheese are just a few.  But perhaps one of the things most commonly associated with France is the incredible wines that are produced there.  Many of our tours incorporate visits to vineyards in several regions during which time guests have the opportunity to taste local wine and get a true taste of what the breathtaking country of France has to offer.  Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your wine tasting experience.

1.) Use your senses

2.) Describe the wine

3.) Don't Forget...

Pissaladière - The Perfect Winter Dinner!

Pissaladière is the perfect dinner to enjoy on a cold winter night while curled up by the fireplace. This Provencal rectangle onion tart dish is most popular in southern France including cities such as Nice and Marseilles, and the Var department. This pizza-like bread dough is thicker than most and the toppings don’t include your typical cheese and tomatoes, but rather onions, olives, garlic and anchovies.

The total time to prepare this meal takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes. It is well worth the wait! A favorite in France, this meal is sure to satisfy all that taste it. Here is a detailed recipe. Bon appétit!
