Visit the award winning Val Joanis Gardens in wine country
The spectacular Val Joanis fruit, vegetable and flower gardens are made up of three terraces carved out of a slope in the heart of the Luberon wine estate and constructed in an area protected from the Mistral winds using stones salvaged from a roman pool.
The vegetable garden makes up the first terrace, mixing aromatic herbs, flowers and vegetables. The second terrace is made up of large rectangles interspersed with yews and bushes of roses, beds of irises and borders of asters. The third terrace is home to the orchards – apple, cherry, birch and fig trees. Visit www.val-joanis.com for more details.
