Travel Tip

FALL for France in Autumn

Fall is a great time to travel to France! Here are our favorite reasons why:

•  First, the Fall colors are spectacular! Wherever you travel in France in September and October, the colors of the trees make for picture-perfect scenery! Whether you take a drive, go for a hike or bike through one of the famous regions, you'll discover small villages, markets and monuments surrounded by fabulous fall foliage. These colors will make your trip even more stunning, enjoyable and relaxing! Our favorite Fall spots: the Loire Valley, Burgundy, Alsace and of course, Provence .

•  Our second reason for loving France in the Fall is less people! Most tourists and families travel to France during the Summer, making Fall the ideal and most relaxing time to visit. If you're able to travel in autumn, the roads will be quieter and hotels may have more spaces available and perhaps, better rates.

•  Finally, Fall is known in France for its harvest season! If you're a wine connoisseur, you'll love France in the autumn even more! Rent a car and visit one of the regions listed above for amazing scenery and wine. Many small vineyards post signs along the roadside, inviting you to superb tastings. And if you like what you taste, you most likely will be able to purchase the wine and arrange for it to be shipped back home for you.

If you're staying in Paris , there are still plenty of colourful foliage and wine to enjoy. One of the largest and most beautiful parks in Paris is the Luxembourg Gardens . Whether walking, picnicking or even rollerblading, you'll enjoy time spent in this truly relaxing park.

You can also take part in the wine harvest in Paris as well. The famous wine festival, “Fete Des Vendanges” is held each year in Montmartre . This year, the festival runs from October 10-12. And if you happen to buy wine from the vineyard “Clos Montmartre”, your good deed of the day is done: all profits go to a local charity!

While summer is the peak time for tourists, September and October is trade-show season in Paris . You may be interested in one of these fairs:
