Train or Plane?

Train versus the plane? Throughout Europe the choice of travel by train is becoming more popular. New high speed services are opening everywhere; last month between Madrid and Barcelona , and new routes through the mountains in Switzerland into Italy .

In France , new amenities and services are also on the way! Recently, Eurostar reduced travel time between London and Paris with the new London station, and last year Paris to Alsace/Eastern France finally opened for the TGV.

SNCF, the French railroad, has also added DVD players and movie rentals on the Mediterranean line and soon to come is a disco ambiance between Paris & Biarritz !

Price still favors the low cost, no frills carriers, but weighing the costs of travel time, security lines, baggage check, miscellaneous fees that go along with air travel, the train is looking like a better option and use of time for many. In addition, many discount carries such as EasyJet are regularly NOT on time and fly unusual hours and limited days of the week.

At Discover France , we recommend connecting on the TGV
at Paris CDG instead of taking a connecting flight to other
parts of France . In general, it's a better, more stress
free way to go.

Enjoy the ride!
