Arrival city is easiest via Colmar, and return via Strasbourg. Both are accessible by TGV train from Paris. Nearby airports include Strasbourg, Frankfurt, Mulhouse.

DAY 1
Day 1 You arrive at the beautiful wine village of Gueberschwihr, a medieval village with half timbered houses, cobbled streets and a beautiful Romanesque church. There will be a tour introduction followed by a walk through vineyards to nearby village of Voegtlinshoffen. Here we you will enjoy a crèmant and wine tasting before returning to Gueberschwihr. Overnight and dinner Gueberschwihr. (D)

Day 2: After breakfast you walk through vines and forest to the Chapel of Notre-Dame de Schauenberg. From here cross the Strangenberg hill, home of many protected rare species of flowers, to the wine village of Pfaffenheim. Passing through vineyards you arrive back at Gueberschwihr. Extra Mile Option : Discover Rouffach with its stork park and Witches’ Tower. Challenging Option : The “Cou Cou Rock” Challenge. Overnight and dinner Gueberschwihr. (B,D)

Day 3: You walk through Grand Cru vineyards and woodlands, with splendid views of the Vosges Mountains, the Plain of Alsace and the Black Forest Mountains. You can stroll through the gardens of the ancient Abbey of Marbach on to the wine village of Husseren-les-Châteaux. It is then downhill through the vines to the beautiful village of Eguisheim, home to Pope Leon IX in the 11th century. Challenging Option : The “Trois Châteaux” (3 Castle) loop. Overnight Gueberschwihr. Dinner on your own. (B)

Day 4: A wonderful walk along the River Lauch into the centre of Colmar, a small town that is full of beauty, culture and history. The maze of cobbled streets gives the impression that one is walking in a bygone age. Perfect picture postcard spots such as ‘La Petite Venise’ (Little Venice) must be seen! Here see the renowned Grunewald triptych, housed in the Unterlinden museum. We then transfer you by minibus to Riquewihr, one of the most beautiful villages in France. Overnight & dinner in Riquewihr. (B,D)

Day 5: Walk through the narrow cobblestone streets of Riquewihr, admiring the half timbered buildings. Exiting by the Dolder tower, vineyard and forest paths lead you by “Crow Rock” to the medieval city of Kaysersberg, home of Albert Schweitzer. Walking through Grand Cru vineyards we pass through the picturesque village of Kientzheim, with its wine museum, before arriving back at Riquewihr. Challenging Option : Kaysersberg Castle Challenge. Overnight Riquewihr. Dinner on your own. (B)

Day 6: Walk up through the famous Schoenenbourg Grand Cru vineyards for excellent views over the village. Then continue through forest and vineyards to Hunawihr with its unique fortified church dating from the 8th century. Walking on to the medieval town of Ribeauvillé we may visit the factory outlet of Beauvillé, renowned for its fabrics. On returning to Riquewihr you will enjoy an end of tour dinner at a famous 1* Michelin restaurant. Challenging Option : The Castles of Ribeauspierre Challenge. Haut-Koenigsbourg Excursion : A guided visit to this famous castle is possible with supplement. Overnight Riquewihr. Dinner Riquewhir at a Michelin star rated restaurant. (B,D)
