Have you heard of Cynisca Cycling, a non-profit organization dedicated to growing women’s cycling? By helping talented riders reach the highest levels of the sport, the team shares values that strongly align with ours – which is why we’ve proudly partnered with Cynisca since 2022 to support the development of women’s cycling. Let’s discover the team behind this inspiring project.
A bit of History
The team’s name pays tribute to Cynisca, the first woman to win at the Olympic Games in ancient history, in 396 and 392 BC. A Spartan horse trainer involved in chariot racing, she is represented today in the team’s logo. Her courage and determination continue to inspire generations of women to break barriers and pursue their athletic ambitions.
An international project
Based in the USA, Cynisca Cycling has developed into an international project with around 20 riders from the United States, Canada, France, and several European countries. Supported by partners and donations, this non-profit organization competes internationally and regularly comes to France for training camps and races.
European Racing Focus
Registered with the UCI, the team competes in international races and prestigious European events, while riders also represent their home countries at National Championships. Since its creation, Cynisca Cycling has already achieved strong results, including victories at races such as the Tour of the Gila and the Pan American Road Race Championships.
To further support the next generation of talent, Cynisca launched the Pathways Fund, an initiative designed primarily to help young American U25 riders access the highest levels of international racing. For the 2026 season, two riders have already been placed with a Europe-based team competing at Tour de France level, with additional riders expected to follow depending on future funding opportunities.
Empowering Women to Ride
Cynisca Cycling is committed to identifying and supporting promising young riders by providing a high-level training environment and competitive opportunities to help them reach their full potential. Beyond racing, the organization actively advocates for the growth and visibility of women’s cycling through partnerships, events, and community initiatives aimed at creating greater opportunities for female athletes.
