Vibrant and green, the Puglia region forms the “tacco” or heel in the boot of Italy. Its eastern borders runs along the Adriatic Sea. Nested in the curve of the boot, the wild earth of Basilicata is bathed by two seas: the Tyrrheninan in the Gulf of Policastro and the Lonian in the Gulf of Gecko.
