La Voie Verte de Passa Païs is located in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of Haut Languedoc. It winds between Bédarieux and Mazamet through small villages, tunnels and sublime bridges. Breathtaking viewpoints are to be discovered on this cycling trip. This green way takes an old railroad, so it is totally secure and perfect to do with the family. You will be in the middle of nature in the middle of large spaces, far from the crowds, the bicycle is a very interesting way to discover these places so preserved. You will finish your trip to explore the fascinating medieval city of Carcassonne, a UNESCO world heritage site.

Arrival at Montpellier train station & transfer to Bédarieux

Arrival to the Montpellier Saint Roch train station (old town), train station where you will meet our guide who will transfer you to Bédarieux to start your tour. Installation in your charming hotel, where you will have an orientation by our staff, and you can explore the town.

From Bédarieux to Saint-Pons-de-Thomières

For this day, take advantage of the green way Passa Païs following the rivers Jaur and Orb. Enjoy a break in Olargues classified among the most beautiful villages of France, visit this charming little village. Discover the Carroux mountains that overlook your route. You will pass on the Eiffel Bridge where you will dominate the valley, you will ride on bridges and in tunnels throughout the day. You will finally arrive in Siant pons de Thomières, nestled in the hollow of a valley.

From Saint-Pons-de-Thomières to Mazamet

Today, you will change the atmosphere and climate on your way to Mazamet. A few kilometers after your departure, you can enjoy a stop at the glass spinner's cave. Then set off again to cross the tunnel dug under the Fenille pass. Once you have crossed it, you will go from the Mediterranean basin to the nature of the Tarn with an oceanic climate. The scenery changes, the flora is transformed. This contrast between these 2 climates is exceptional. You will then drive between pastures, small villages of character and the Black Mountain. You will finally reach Mazamet in the heart of the Tarn which has a rich history in the time of the Cathars, a museum is dedicated to it in the city if you are interested.

You can take your time getting started in the morning to have breakfast and depart at your leisure Transfer to Carcassonne with the bike (included).
