I had a fantastic trip. There were many more hills and busy roads that I didn’t expect. The last hotel was just okay, the other hotels have been great! I will definitely book some other tours with you.

This tour was amazing. The itinerary was oriented toward rural roads with light auto traffic, and with views of castles, medieval villages, and Roman ruins in abundance. We have done a number of self-guided trips in Europe, and tend to use US-b
...ased companies for reasons of comfort and convenience.
However, the service and responsiveness we experienced with Discover France was our best ever. The navigational app was intuitive, easy to use, reliable, and accurate. It was backed up with printed cue sheets, although we rarely needed them. The equipment (bikes and accessories) was also very good. The bikes were sturdy, if a bit heavy, but stood up great to the route.
It was one of our favorite rides, and we would definitely ride with Discover France again.

Nigel and I were delighted with the services that were offered by Discovery France. We found it easy to communicate with you and found you were very responsive to our needs. The app was extremely easy to use and kept us on track so we were abl

We loved our cycling adventure in Provence with *Discover France*. The bikes were perfect, and the hotels were really lovely, especially the one in Uzès where the hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We had a small fall in a ditch, but fortuna
...tely nothing serious, just a small bruise and a slight swelling on the leg. The good news is that the bike wasn't damaged!
Overall, we had a great experience and really enjoyed the scenery, the hotels and the bikes. We just had a few adjustments to make with the app. But that didn't stop us enjoying the trip to the full. We highly recommend this experience!

From Avignon to Uzès
The route will move out of Avignon through the Gard forests and vineyards and to visit the famous roman aqueduct Pont du Gard which dominates the river at over 165 feet high. Swimming is possible in the river. You will cycle on to Uzes, a beautiful Provencal village with tree-lined streets.
You leave in the direction of the north of Uzes into a green area of scenic roads and light traffic. You will ride through small charming villages such as Vallabrix, Saint Quentin la Poterie. This is like 'potters tour' with the chance to visit ceramic shops and a museum. Return to your hotel for swim in the pool. Note, if you are flexible, making this day a Saturday will let you experience the Uzes market day and let you see a fantastic Provencal market.
Travel to the town of Arles, passing through mostly flat countryside except in the gorges around the Gardon River. You first ride to Collias at the confluence of the Gardon and Alson rivers. From there to Ledenon, famous for wine production, and then Meynes and its old fortified village. At Tarascon you can visit the Chateau and Souleiado Museum before going on to Arles. In Arles there is the extraordinarily well-preserved Roman arena, antique theater, and many museums, among which is one devoted to Vincent van Gogh. The ride is mostly flat but starts out rolling.
You may want to spend some time in the morning visiting Arles and the many sites to see in this old Roman town. Your ride goes to St Remy de Provence. The ride is not too long today, so in function of weather you can leave as wish. You will pass the Abbey of Montmajour and up to les Baux de Provence. Take some time to visit the site of Les Baux, walk the old stone streets, and imagine what it must have been like 2000 years ago. After you will descend to St Remy where you can visit the town and see where Van Gogh made over 150 paintings. Ride with hills at Les Baux.
