Highlights

Normandy is a region of France famous the world over for its history, culture, and gastronomy. On this trip, you explore the 'flowery coast' between luxurious Deauville and picturesque Honfleur. The authentic town of Trouville sur Mer is the first base of this trip, a charming little fishing port with a long sandy beach. From here, you set off on an exploration with a series of beautiful walks. You then take the train to Bayeux (not included).

You discover this charming town miraculously spared by the bombings, its majestic Gothic cathedral, and the museum of the famous Bayeux Tapestry. We explore the coast to discover the D-Day landing beaches and the remnants of the Second World War at Arromanches, Longue sur Mer and Saint Laurent sur Mer. We also visit Port en Bessin, a small port focused mainly on scallop fishing. A walking holiday combining nature and history.

higher, the scenery changes completely and we're now in the Normandy countryside. We discover horse farms and magnificent thatched cottages, and as we're in Normandy, we also find relics of the Second World War, a military cemetery, and magnificent views of the coast. We then head back down to the sea and walk along the immense beach (3km) to the famous Deauville boardwalk, which bears the names of the American actors who took part in the town's "American film festival", like a little "Hollywood boulevard" à la française. Passing through Arromanches, you can choose to visit the 360° cinema and the D-Day Museum, or you can enjoy a swim (lifeguard station only during the summer school holidays in the afternoon). The route then continues along the cliffs to Longues sur Mer and the old German batteries.

Then it is with emotion that you stroll between the white tombs overlooking the sea in this place that today is so peaceful and that was once a terrible battlefield. After this moving visit, we start the walk down to Omaha Beach (with the possibility of a swim) and continue along the coast through the countryside before reaching Port en Bessin, a charming fishing port specialising in scallop fishing. Return transfer to Bayeux.
