The role of cycling in your life? Cycling is my main means of transportation – both for commuting and for travel.
Your favorite trip? Last year, I left from Montpellier and rode all the way to a guesthouse near the Alps. I did a few rides in the area before heading back down along the Rhône and the coast, returning to Montpellier. It was a beautiful journey.
A travel anecdote about you? During a short spring ride north of Mont Aigoual a few years ago, under clear skies, I ended up getting caught in snow just a few kilometers from the summit… I crossed the pass on foot, trying not to slip – quite an unusual experience!
Your favorite French region and why? Probably the Cévennes and the nearby Causses, because that’s where I first started riding. You can find all kinds of terrain there: long, steady climbs, shorter and steeper ones, even some short, very steep hills and long false flats across the Causses – a real treat! And the view from Mont Aigoual is something else: you can see the sea during the climb, and on clear days at the top, even the Alps and the Pyrenees!
A must-try French specialty? Beef bourguignon – what a delight!
A hidden talent? I really enjoy drawing in my free time.
