Women's Tour de France Adventure
We are delighted to offer this first of its kind bike trip to the 2023 Tour de France Femmes.
We commence our adventure in the rich Aveyron region, known for its produce, cheeses and truffles. By bike, we discover the unique landscapes then treat ourselves to local cuisine by night. We’ll pedal from our hotel and see stages 4 and 5. Then, we take advantage of Discover France’s official tour operator status and go behind the scenes into the VIP Departure Village for Stage 6 in Albi. Next, we head South into the Pyrenees to our hotel, located just outside of Bagnères-de-Bigorre. We’ll climb the formidable Col du Tourmalet in the early morning of July 29th, and take in the summit finish of the race’s queen stage. To finish it off in style, we’ll transfer to Pau on the tour’s last day to see the final Time Trial from our VIP hospitality tent at the finish line. This tour literally has it all.Region : Pyrenees

After a hearty French breakfast at our hotel, we will leave the hotel and discover the incredible scenic and small roads that are well known in this area. There is no shortage of roads to choose from, but we have designed a ride that will allow us to discover the area by bike in the morning and then intersect with the Tour de France Femmes in the afternoon. Today’s stage will likely see plenty of fireworks from the riders and we’ll be right in the middle of the action! We will take our time and enjoy this incredible show we are lucky to behold. An easy 20 km ride back to the hotel is a fun wind-down after our first viewing of the TDFF today. We will do a short 5-minute drive into town tonight to enjoy dinner in a local restaurant.

Another big day awaits us today and we are back on the bikes and chasing down the Tour de France Femmes! This region of France sits far from the typical tourist sites, and we will enjoy riding small roads through lost villages in the French countryside. Our goal is to intersect the TDFF riders as they pass through a series of very small roads that lie south of our hotel. We’ll enjoy a delicious French picnic at the hand our Discover France guides today, and then settle in to find our spot along the race route. After the peloton has passed, we’ll hop back on the bikes and enjoy another great ride back to our hotel. Once back at the hotel, take the time to relax before we meet for dinner in the hotel’s dining room.

Day 4 : Stage 6 VIP Departure Village in Albi - Transfer to Bagnères-de-Bigorre
This morning we will enjoy the VIP Experience at the Departure Village in Albi. After an early breakfast at the hotel, we’ll pack up the vans with our bikes and luggage and get ready for our drive South to Albi. In Albi, you’ll have the privilege of entering the TDFF Departure Village where past and present luminaries of women’s cycling and the Tour de France will mingle with us mere mortals. It’s a really fun experience and is often the highlight of our VIP Experiences. Once the race is about to start, we’ll exit the Departure Village and find a place to watch the riders set off on the day’s stage towards Toulouse. Once the race has started, we’ll board the vans for the drive South into the Pyrenees. Our destination is the town of Bagnères-de-Bigorre. The drive will be about 2.5 to 3 hours. Arriving in Bagnères-de-Bigorre you will understand the magnitude of where you are. Sitting in the shadows of the towering Col du Tourmalet, Bagnères-de-Bigorre is a famous base for cyclists around the world. We’ll unpack the vans, check into our rooms, and take some time to walk around. Dinner tonight will be in out hotel’s dining room. We’ll enjoy some delicious food tonight and celebrate our arrival in the Pyrenees.

We’ll have and early breakfast and then get on our bikes to make our way down the country road that leads to the beginning of the Tourmalet climb. It’s a nice 10-mile warm up ride before we encounter the real climb of the day. The crowds on the road and the energy will be amazing. We’ll be cheered on by the thousands of fans parked on the side of the climb. The climb itself is about 11 miles long. Our goal will be to reach the summit and stake out a viewing spot. The atmosphere will be electric as we all wait for the riders to appear. It will be a sporting moment to remember as this classic TDFF Stage plays out. Once all of the riders have arrived at the summit, we’ll make our way down the hill by bike, and re-group back at the hotel to share our stories with one another! We’ll do a quick transfer by van into town for dinner tonight at a local restaurant and toast the day we have just experienced.

Enjoy champagne and food as you take in the final stage of this amazing week, in fine fashion. No biking today for us, but once the race is over, we’ll take it all in before making our way back to Bagnères-de-Bigorre for dinner. Our farewell dinner tonight will be in the hotel’s dining room.
